Photo tips for Labradors
- Floppy ears are fine, just keep them inside the frame. Several moods move the ears, so a cropped ear looks odd.
- Black and chocolate Labs: Dark coats lose detail in shadow. Take the photo in bright, indirect daylight, near a window or outside on a cloudy day. Avoid backlight and flash, which make dark eyes glare.
- Yellow Labs: Pale coats can blow out to plain white in direct sun. Use shade or window light so the fur keeps its texture.
- One animal per photo, facing the camera, with nothing covering the face.
Good to know
Labs make great Happy and Excited videos: a photo with the mouth slightly open gives the most natural panting.
